Privacy policy

Last updated 23 September 2026

This policy explains what personal data TurtleScene collects, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. In short: we use your data to run the product you signed up for. We don't sell it, advertise with it, or train AI models on your content.

1.Who we are

TurtleScene is a product of Turtle Techsai, based in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “our”, it means Turtle Techsai.

This policy covers the TurtleScene website, the app, and the demo pages and embeds our customers share. For anything about your personal data, contact us at contact@turtletechsai.com.

2.Our role for different kinds of data

For your account, and for how you use TurtleScene, we decide how the data is used. We are responsible for it (under Indian law, the “data fiduciary”; under the GDPR, the “controller”).

Customers use TurtleScene to make content and share it with their own audiences. For personal data inside a customer's recordings, and for data collected from people who view a customer's demo (including lead form answers), the customer is responsible and we process it on their behalf. If you viewed a demo made with TurtleScene and have a question about your data, contact the company that shared it; we'll help them respond.

3.What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your email address, your workspace name and, if you add it, your name. We store a one-way hash of your password, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
  • Your content: screen recordings (including microphone audio if you turn it on), screenshots, documents you upload (such as PDFs, Word files and slide decks), text you write, voice settings, and everything TurtleScene makes from them: scripts, voiceovers, videos, interactive demos and other formats.
  • Brand and product details: the pages we read when you give us your website address, and what we learn from them, such as your product description, colours and logo.
  • App login details: if you ask TurtleScene to explore your own web app, the login details you provide. They are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before they are stored and are used only to sign in to that app for you.
  • Billing details: for paid plans, your plan, billing dates, payment status and the subscription and payment identifiers Razorpay gives us. Card and bank details stay with Razorpay.
  • Messages: what you send us when you email us or ask for help.

Information collected when people view shared demos

  • A random session identifier, which steps were viewed, whether the demo was finished, the referring page, browser type (user agent) and approximate country.
  • Answers to any lead form the demo's owner adds, such as name, email address, phone number or company.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical logs that our servers keep for security and troubleshooting, such as IP address, time of request, the page or API called and error details.
  • Cookies: we use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to protect your account, and Google Analytics to understand how our own website and app are used. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell or share this data for advertising. Google Analytics is never loaded on a published demo (/d, /embed, /s), so viewers of a customer's demo are not measured by us. You can block analytics cookies in your browser, or with an extension, without losing any functionality. The app also saves a few interface preferences in your browser's local storage; these never leave your device.

4.How we use it

  • To run TurtleScene: store your content, analyse recordings, write scripts, generate voiceovers, render videos and publish the demos you share.
  • To manage your account, keep it secure and prevent abuse.
  • To send service emails, such as password resets and notices that a video has finished rendering.
  • To answer your questions and give support.
  • To show demo owners how their demos perform and to deliver lead form answers to them.
  • To keep the service reliable, using aggregated usage and error information.
  • To handle billing and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performing our contract with you (running the service), our legitimate interests (security, support, improving reliability), your consent (where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time) and legal obligations. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, we process your data for the purposes you gave it to us for, and for the other lawful uses the Act allows.

5.How AI processes your content

TurtleScene uses AI models to understand recordings and screenshots, write scripts and tooltips, transcribe audio and create voiceovers. To do that, we send the relevant content (for example, a recording, frames from it, or the text of a script) to the AI providers listed below. They process it to return a result to us.

We use these providers through their paid business services, under terms that do not allow them to use your content to train their models. We don't use your content to train models either.

AI can get things wrong. Please review what TurtleScene generates before you publish it.

6.Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run TurtleScene:

  • Microsoft Azure (United States): hosting, database, file storage, and the Azure OpenAI models we use for text, transcription and voice.
  • Google: the Gemini API, which analyses recordings and screenshots, and Google sign-in if you use it.
  • Razorpay (India): payments for paid plans. Razorpay collects your card, UPI or bank details directly; we never see or store them. We receive the payment status, the amount, and identifiers for your subscription and payments.
  • Postmark (United States): delivery of our emails. For product and onboarding emails we also record whether a message was opened and which links were clicked, so we can tell which ones are worth sending. Account emails — password resets, invites, “your video is ready” — are nottracked. Every product email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing never affects account emails.
  • Google Analytics (United States): how our website and app are used — pages viewed, rough location from IP, device and browser. Used only to improve the product and our marketing. It is not loaded on published demos.
  • Pexels: stock photo search. We send search words only, never your personal data.

We may also share personal data:

  • At your direction. For example, with Slack, HubSpot or a webhook you connect to receive lead form answers, or with anyone who has the link to a demo you make public.
  • For legal reasons. If the law, a court order or a valid request from a government authority requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or us.
  • In a business transfer. If Turtle Techsai is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

7.Where your data is stored

Your data is stored with Microsoft Azure in the United States (payment records are also held by Razorpay in India). If you use TurtleScene from India, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States and in the other countries where our providers operate. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the standard contractual clauses our providers offer.

8.How long we keep it

  • Account data and content: for as long as your account is open. You can delete individual recordings, demos and videos at any time.
  • When you close your account: we delete your account and content within 30 days. Copies in our backups are removed as those backups expire, normally within a further 35 days.
  • Demo views and lead form answers: until the demo's owner deletes them or closes their account.
  • Server logs: for a limited period, normally no more than 90 days.
  • Billing records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

9.How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, app login details are encrypted, and database access is limited so that each workspace can only reach its own data. Recordings and exports are kept in private storage and shared through links that expire.

Anything you publish can be seen by anyone who has its link. Images used inside published demos are served from unlisted web addresses so that viewers can load them. Please record in a demo account where you can, and blur anything private before you share.

No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal data, we'll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

10.Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct or update it;
  • delete it;
  • send your content to you in a portable format;
  • stop or limit certain uses of it, or object to them;
  • withdraw any consent you gave us.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act you can also have your grievances addressed and nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to. In the EEA and the UK, you can complain to your local data protection authority. Residents of California: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

To use any of these rights, email contact@turtletechsai.com from the address on your account. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we reply within 30 days.

11.Children

TurtleScene is a tool for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

12.Grievance officer

In line with Indian law, you can raise any complaint about how we handle personal data with our Grievance Officer:

Grievance Officer, Turtle Techsai
Nagpur, Maharashtra, India
contact@turtletechsai.com

We acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to resolve them within 30 days.

13.Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy as TurtleScene changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we use your personal data, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Our terms of service explain the rules for using TurtleScene.
