What is TurtleScene

TurtleScene is a release-day demo kit. What it makes from one recording, who it is for, and how this help centre is organised.

TurtleScene is a release-day demo kit. Record a feature once and you get the narrated launch video, a clickable demo, social cuts, a help article and versions in 14 languages (on Starter and up), the same day. You record the flow in your browser, or upload a screen recording you already have, and everything else is built from that one take.

What you get from one recording

You record yourself using your product: signing up, creating a project, sending an invoice, whatever the flow is. TurtleScene watches the recording, finds each click and turns it into a step. From those steps it can make three main outputs.

  • Narrated demo video. Your real screens with an AI voiceover, zooms onto each click and a spotlight or step card on each step, framed on your brand colours in the Studio style. Where the narration needs longer than the screen was on show, the video pauses on that frame so the voice and the picture stay in step. You can cut out loading screens and waits, and add an intro, an outro and music.
  • Clickable demo. A click-through version of the same flow. Viewers step through your screens themselves, with hotspots, tooltips and Back and Next buttons. You share it by link or embed it on your site. You can also build one from screenshots instead of a recording. In the app this is called an interactive demo.
  • Story video. An animated explainer built around your product's screens, with designed scenes and a voiceover. You can also start one from a brief, a document or screenshots instead of a recording.

Use a narrated video when viewers should watch the flow, and a clickable demo when they should try it themselves. Use a story video when you want to explain why the product matters, not just how to use it.

Formats made from each output

Once a narrated video or story video is ready, the Formats tab makes more from it without recording again:

  • Captions (SRT and WebVTT)
  • Square 1:1 versions of the full video, plus vertical 9:16 ones from a narrated video
  • A highlight of about 30 seconds, in landscape (and in 9:16 from a narrated video)
  • A GIF preview and a thumbnail
  • A help article with screenshots (from a narrated video) or launch posts (from a story video)

On Starter and up you can also make translated versions of a video or clickable demo. See Social cuts, GIFs & captions and Translated versions.

Who it is for

TurtleScene is built for the people who explain a product that changes every sprint, at B2B software companies:

  • Product marketing, for launch videos, social cuts and launch posts.
  • Customer success and education, for onboarding walkthroughs, clickable tours and training in other languages.
  • Support and docs, for help articles with a video and a clickable demo beside them.

Sales teams use the clickable demos for follow-ups, and founders who do all of these jobs themselves are welcome too.

You don't need to write a script, record a voiceover or edit video. You do need a working product you can open in a browser, because everything starts from a recording of your real screens. When a flow changes, you record it again and rebuild the outputs from the new take; TurtleScene doesn't watch your product for changes.

Viewers never need an account. They watch or click through from a share link, and a clickable demo can also be embedded on your site.

How much it costs

Every plan, including Free, makes every output and format. Plans differ in how many AI recordings you get each month, how long each recording can be, how many creators can work in the workspace, export resolution, and some features such as analytics, lead capture and custom domains. Clickable demos made from screenshots are unlimited on every plan. See Plans, credits & limits.

How these docs are organised

The sidebar follows the order you usually work in. Each section starts here:

  • Getting started. Core concepts & glossary explains the terms used everywhere else. Quickstart: your first demo takes you from sign-up to a shared demo.
  • Record. How to capture a good recording, upload one you already have, and reuse or delete it later. Start with Record your screen.
  • Narrated demo videos. Script, voice, steps, cuts, intro and outro, rendering and sharing. Start with Create a narrated video.
  • Clickable demos. Building, editing, sharing and gating click-through demos. Start with From a recording.
  • Story videos. Creating, editing and exporting animated explainers. Start with Create a story video.
  • Formats. Social cuts, GIFs, captions, help articles and launch posts. Start with Social cuts, GIFs & captions.
  • Brand & workspace. Your logo, colours, voice and the product knowledge TurtleScene writes from. Start with Brand & player.
  • Share & grow. Analytics, integrations and custom domains. Start with Analytics.
  • Team & billing. Inviting teammates and managing your plan. Start with Members & roles.
  • Help. Fixes for common problems, how your data is handled and how to reach us. Start with Troubleshooting.
Tip

If you are new, read the Quickstart first. It takes one short recording and shows every step from recording to sharing.
