How to Design a LinkedIn Launch Post in Canva

A simple walkthrough for first-time Canva users

If you want to create a polished LinkedIn launch post without building everything from scratch, this video walks through the process in Canva from start to finish.

It begins with a simple starting point: search for LinkedIn Post, choose a template you like, and open it with customise this template. From there, the video shows how to swap in your own uploaded photo so the design starts to reflect your announcement.

Build a post that stays on brand

One of the most useful parts of the workflow is staying inside the editor while bringing the design closer to your brand.

The video demonstrates how to open the Brand panel, apply your colour palette to the template, and click your logo to place it into the design. That makes it easier to turn a generic starting point into something that feels consistent with the rest of your content.

For anyone creating launch content, that matters. A post should not only communicate the announcement clearly, but also look like it belongs to your brand.

Resize and export for sharing

After the design is updated, the final steps are about preparing it for use.

The video shows how to click Resize, choose resize this design, and create another format from the same design. Then it walks through opening the Share menu and downloading the finished post as a PNG.

By the end, you have a branded post that has been resized and saved, ready to share on LinkedIn.

What this video covers

This is a practical how-to explainer focused on the exact actions shown on screen:

  • start with a LinkedIn Post template
  • customise it with your own photo
  • apply brand colours
  • add a logo
  • resize the design
  • export a PNG for posting
