Analytics
See how many people open your clickable demos, how far they get and how many click your call to action.
The Analytics page shows how your shared clickable demos perform: how many people opened them, how far they got and how many clicked your call to action. Use it to find the demo that loses people halfway through, then fix the step where they leave.
Views are counted on every plan. The full dashboard (completion rate, steps viewed, CTA clicks and the per-demo breakdown) is available on Starter and up.
Open the Analytics page
- In the sidebar, under Workspace, click Analytics.
- Read the four figures at the top, then scroll to Per-demo breakdown to compare demos.
You can also get there from the clickable demo editor: click the chart icon in the top bar (its tooltip says Analytics), or open the ⋯ menu and choose Open analytics.
The page covers every clickable demo in the current workspace. If you belong to more than one workspace, switch workspace first with the switcher at the top of the sidebar.
What each figure means
| Figure | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Total views | Each time someone opens one of your demos on its share page or in an embed. |
| Completion rate | How far through the demo the average view got, as a percentage. A view that reaches the end counts as 100%. |
| Avg steps viewed | The average step number viewers were on when they last moved. |
| CTA clicks | Clicks on the call-to-action button in your demos. |
The Per-demo breakdown table lists each demo with its Views and Avg completion, so you can see which demo holds attention and which one loses it.
A low completion rate usually points to a demo that is too long or a step that is unclear. Open the demo in the editor, shorten it or rewrite the tooltip where people stop, and watch the next few days of views. See Using the editor.
What gets tracked
The demo player records these events for every view of a published clickable demo:
- the view starting
- each step the viewer sees
- clicks on a hotspot and on Next
- reaching the end of the demo
- clicks on the call-to-action button
Views are recorded on the demo's share page and wherever you embed it. See Share & embed.
What the viewer's browser sends is limited to a random session identifier, the steps they viewed, whether they finished, the page they came from and their browser type. There are no advertising cookies, and TurtleScene's own website analytics are never loaded on a published demo. The Privacy & security page has the details.
What isn't tracked
- Your own previews. Opening Preview in the editor never adds a view, so testing a demo doesn't skew its numbers.
- Automated browsers. Visits from headless or automated browsers are ignored.
- Narrated videos and story videos. The Analytics page covers clickable demos only.
On the Free plan the page shows Total views only, with a See plans button. Your views are counted from the start, so the full history is there as soon as you upgrade.
No data yet
If the breakdown says "No view data yet. Share a demo to start collecting analytics.", nobody has opened a shared demo since you published it. Check that the demo's public link is switched on (Personalize › Share › Public link enabled in the editor), then open the share link in a private window to confirm it loads.
Download lead form answers
Analytics counts views; lead form answers are kept separately for each demo. If a demo has a lead form, download its answers as a CSV file:
- Open the clickable demo in the editor from the Library.
- In the toolbar, click Personalize.
- Open the Integrations tab.
- Under Lead submissions, click Download CSV. The file has one row per submission, with the date and a column for each form field.
Only members of the workspace can download the file. To send leads to Slack, HubSpot or your own system as they arrive, see Slack, HubSpot & webhooks. To set up the form itself, see Lead capture & passwords.
