Members & roles
Invite teammates to your workspace by email, choose Member or Admin, manage seats and remove people.
Everyone in a workspace can open and edit its recordings, demos and videos, so a teammate can pick up a demo where you left off. You add people from the Team page by email. How many people a workspace can have depends on its plan.
Seats on each plan
Each person in the workspace, including the owner, uses one creator seat.
| Plan | Creators |
|---|---|
| Free | 1 |
| Starter | 1 |
| Studio | 3 |
| Team | 10 |
On Free and Starter, the one seat is yours, so to invite anyone you need Studio or Team. The Members card on the Team page shows how many seats are in use, for example "2 of 3 creators on the Studio plan". When every seat is taken, the card shows Upgrade for more seats, which opens Plan & billing. See Billing & invoices.
Roles
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including changing the plan. The person who created the workspace. There is one owner, and the owner can't be removed. |
| Admin | Everything a member can do, plus invite and remove people. |
| Member | Open, create and edit everything in the workspace. |
Only the owner can change or cancel the plan. Admins and members see the plan and usage on Plan & billing, but the buttons are switched off for them.
The Admin role is available on the Team plan. On other plans, Admin (Team plan) appears in the role list but can't be chosen, and everyone you invite joins as a Member.
Invite a teammate
You need to be the owner or an admin to invite people.
- In the sidebar, under Configure, click Team.
- In Invite a teammate, type their email address.
- Choose a role: Member, or Admin on the Team plan.
- Click Invite. You'll see "Invite sent to" and their address, and they appear in the Members list straight away.
If you see "The invite email couldn't be sent, so let them know", they have still been added. Tell them to sign in to TurtleScene with that email address.
What invited people receive
They get an email saying who invited them and to which workspace.
- If they don't have a TurtleScene account yet, an account is created for their email address and the button says Set your password and join. The link works for 7 days. After that, they can use Forgot password? on the sign-in page to set a password, or sign in with Google using the same email address.
- If they already have an account, the button says Sign in to join. The workspace appears in their workspace switcher when they sign in.
Joining your workspace doesn't affect any workspace of their own.
Remove a member
The owner and admins can remove anyone except the owner and themselves.
- On the Team page, find the person in the Members list.
- Click Remove on their row.
- Confirm. They lose access to the workspace straight away.
Their work stays in the workspace. Nothing they made is deleted, and the seat is free for someone else.
Work in more than one workspace
Use the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar to move between the workspaces you belong to. Each workspace has its own plan, library, brand settings and team.
Everyone can own one workspace. Workspaces you've been invited to don't count towards that.
Owning more than one workspace is available on the Team plan. Once one of your workspaces is on Team, you can create more. Each new workspace starts on Free, with its own billing.
To create another workspace:
- Click the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar.
- Click New workspace.
- Type a name for the workspace and click Create. TurtleScene switches to the new workspace.
If none of your workspaces is on Team, you'll see "More than one workspace: available on the Team plan and up." Upgrade the workspace you already own, then try again.
