Render, download & share
Render a narrated video to MP4, follow its progress, re-render after edits, download it at the size you need and share a link to the player.
Rendering turns your steps, script, cuts, voice, cards and music into one MP4. Until you render, the editor preview is your silent recording with the step cards drawn over it. After a render, you can download the video, open it in a player page, or copy a link to share.
Render the video
You need a script before you can render. See Script & voice.
- In the editor's top bar, click Render MP4. You can also click Generate voiceover & render MP4 at the bottom of the Script tab.
- Watch the button and the footer. The render goes through two phases:
- Synthesizing voiceover… while each script line is spoken by the AI voice.
- Rendering MP4… while the video, zooms, highlights, pauses, cuts, intro, outro and music are put together in the video style you chose.
- When it's done, the editor switches to the Final video tab and the footer says "MP4 ready. It's showing in Final video."
Both labels show a running timer. A render usually takes 1–3 minutes.
The render runs on our servers. You can keep editing while it runs, and it keeps going if you leave the page. Edits you make during a render apply to the next one. Open the video again from the Library to see the result.
Rendering doesn't use credits. Render as often as you like.
Compare the editor and the final video
After the first render, two tabs sit above the preview:
- Editor: the silent recording you edit on. "Silent recording. Switch to Final video to hear the voiceover."
- Final video: the rendered MP4, with narration, zoom and cards as rendered.
If you edit steps, the script or cuts after a render, Final video says "You've edited since this render. Re-render to include the changes."
Re-render after changes
Once a video has been rendered, the top-bar button reads Re-render. Click it after changing anything: steps, script, voice, cuts, video style, intro and outro, or music. After you change the video style, the Video style panel also offers Render MP4.
Script lines you haven't changed reuse their audio, so a re-render after small edits is quicker than the first. Each render replaces the previous MP4, and the share link always plays the latest.
If a render fails
The footer shows the error in red. Fix what it points to if you can, then click Re-render. If a render seems stuck for more than 15 minutes, you'll see "The render is taking unusually long. Refresh the page to check on it." See Troubleshooting.
Download the MP4
- In the top bar, click Download.
- Choose a size:
- 1080p (original): the rendered file as it is.
- 720p
- 480p
The smaller sizes are made the first time you ask for them, which takes a moment; after that they download straight away. You can also click Download in the footer right after a render finishes.
On Free, videos are rendered at 720p and downloads are up to 720p; 1080p (original) shows "paid plans" and is locked. Starter, Studio and Team render at 1080p and can download all three sizes. Narrated videos don't go above 1080p on any plan; 4K exports are for clickable demos.
Open the player
Click Open player in the top bar. It opens the video's player page in a new tab: the video title, its summary if it has one, and the rendered MP4 with standard play controls.
Share a link
- In the top bar, click Share link. The button changes to Copied.
- Paste the link wherever you want it: an email, a chat, a support ticket, a sales follow-up.
Anyone with the link can watch the video without signing in. The player plays the latest render, so re-rendering updates what people see at the same link.
The link is unlisted: it isn't published anywhere and contains a long random ID, but there's no switch to make it public or private. To stop sharing a video, delete it from the Library.
Open player, Share link and Download appear after the first render.
Anyone who has the link can watch the video. Don't share a link to a video that shows private data.
Make more from the video
Once the video is rendered:
- The Formats tab makes social cuts, a GIF, captions, a thumbnail and a help article from it. See Social cuts, GIFs & captions and Help articles & launch posts.
- The Formats tab also makes translated versions in other languages.
- Make interactive demo in the top bar turns the same steps into a clickable demo. See From a recording.
